When you run a care home you want to make sure that the staff you employ is doing all they can to look after the residents who live there and spending the remaining years of their life. We often work with care homes who will invite us in to provide massage for staff as a working incentive. yes, you can just give each staff member a message if you want to but we find that a free massage is a great key performance indicator incentive for them.  Make it even more of a challenge for them by asking residents to vote on who they think should win the free massage for that month.

If you really want to make the whole thing even more interesting why not give staff an opportunity to vote on the best resident and give one of them a free massage!

This helps your care home in several ways

1. Your staff will be more inclined to treat your residents well. They should anyway, but knowing their performance will be “voted on” helps!

2. It will highlight those members of staff who are really doing well within your care home and if you have members of staff who consistently receive low or no votes you can look at why that might be happening.

3. You involve your residents in the process making them feel part of the whole experience

4. You promote well being by giving a member of staff a massage

5. You increase staff retention because you are seen by staff as looking after them
